Valdyr666 Good god, it's like if Deafheaven went death metal instead of black metal. Seamlessly goes between absolutely pummeling riffs & double bass to dreamy introspective passages. Very quickly becoming a new favorite. Favorite track: Oblations for the Sun.
Alasdair Duncan

Alasdair Duncan Alternates between crushing riffs and moments of genuine beauty. Favorite track: Laurel of Victory.

starvynth "Whether this is the first album to try and combine blackened/death doom with post-rock/blackgaze, I don’t know, but it’s certainly the first one that has done it so comprehensively, and unlike some such fusions, the two disparate styles are intrinsically brought together throughout the album. It’s a fascinating concept, and one that is compelling in its execution."

dissonant_ways A truly monumental release in the realm of the death/doom genre for me. There’s a real emotional heft that comes with experiencing Eye of Water as a whole. Not only in terms of its, at times thick and lush riff work, but the almost transcendent feeling one gets from certain moments, which really makes it special. This is, in part, due to the mix of post-rock and shoegaze elements that, in other hands, could come across as tacky, but are used to absolute perfection here. Incredible stuff Favorite track: Fields at Dawn.

Daniel Zidar Tideless have stepped far above their peers on "Eye Of Water". Crushing, beautiful, serene and completely atmospheric doom/death metal. Will definitely be in my top 10 albums of the year, if not AOTY.

osirisx3r0 This is one of the most crushingly beautiful albums of this year. These guys sound like nothing else out there right now. This music is a journey. And I haven't seen a proper surprise bonus track in ages. I already can't wait for the next album and this one ain't even officially released yet Favorite track: Oblations for the Sun.

Embrace me and fly with me Onward, through summer gales And winter frost Like your eyes, Evergreen This love shall stay To flourish in fields of pure ecstasy Within the darkness of night You're the star that guides me Bright and consistent Like the warmth you emit Far away but yet so close Keeping me on the path To your glory Which I adore Centered my eyes Lost in the dilate Untold, for known Death adorned In peace, I bask Lost in a trance Forever in love My sorrow is no more
